Here is a photo of the first historic flight of our new airline. This was TS 001 landing at St. Martin's Princess Juliana airport at about 11:35 am local time after a 90 minute flight from St. George, Grenada.
This is one of several Boeing 737-800 that we are leasing for our airline. We also have an order for a couple of 777s and 747s which are still being built. This will be an airline that will focus on warm-weather destinations...seats will be all business class, and brats...errrrrr...children will not be allowed. Clampetts...errrrrr...people who have never flown before a minimum of ten times will also be denied boarding.
We are based in San Diego, though our primary hub will be in Los Angeles, with minor hubs in San Juan, Honolulu and Singapore. When we get more members in Africa, we will probably put a hub there too.
By now, you are probably saying, "huh"? Well, since I'm not Richard Branson, one of the recurring features of our site will be virtual tours and our airline will cater to that need. Aside from being a third-rate webmaster, I'm also an occasional Microsoft Flight SImulator pilot specializing in civil jets: the 737, 747, and 777. I designed the livery (paint job) for our 737 and will be flying around on our new airline. The goal is to take you to the world Tropicsphere encompasses since we are about travelogues as well as plants. For those of you not fortunate enough to actually visit these places, I hope that this will be the next best thing.
As soon as I learn to pilot a helicopter, I'll add a few Bells to our fleet and have helicopter tours of islands like Kaua'i, Maui, and metro areas in the Tropicsphere.
They will usually be 10 minute videos with focus on points of interest along all the places we discuss here. Sometimes there will be snapshots (real) of the views along the way. Obviously they will be edited because I don't think anybody will want to watch a 15 hour video of a Tropicsphere flight from Los Angeles to Singapore. To add to the fun, I'll have a virtual route map, timetable, and other goodies. Since I fly in real weather (downloaded off the Internet as I fly), sometimes the conditions will be less than ideal, but hey—isn't that what air travel is all about these days?
